TODA FREE MEDICAL OUTREACH, a charitable event initiated in 2016 to show love, donate and provide free health screening and medication to less privileged children, street hawkers and female head porters from the poorer communities in Ghana.
There are huge lapses regarding the health of less privileged women and children in Ghana. We as an NGO are concerned about their holistic well-being and that includes physical and mental health. Hence, we consider this initiative a key responsibility to properly assess their health status and provide further support where necessary. This event is uniquely focused on also providing food and clothes and is organised 2 to 3 times yearly.
The event is filled with diverse activities such as Musical Chairs, Dancing and Singing Competition, among others. There are also motivational talks from senior citizens and respectable individuals in the communities.
Our team of health professionals, who are members of our NGO, with support from other volunteers, conducts the following tests:
• Blood pressure
• Malaria test
• Fasting blood sugar
• Eyesight test
• General assessment of children( ENT, heart, respiratory)
• Breast cancer screening
• Counselling on sexual reproductive health
• Medication counter
